Dr. D’Amore’s Introduction to Breast Implant Removal
Several years ago, Dr. D’Amore met with a patient who was experiencing systemic symptoms that she attributed to her breast implants (BII). Because of this, she wanted to remove them and the tissue capsule around them. Even though the plastic surgery community had yet to acknowledge the benefits of removing the implants for systemic symptoms, Dr. D’Amore agreed. To his and his patient’s delight, the surgery alleviated her symptoms. This woman’s story is far from unique, and since then breast implant removal has helped countless women regain comfort.
The relief experienced by this patient inspired Dr. D’Amore to continue studying and performing this procedure. Since then, he has removed several hundred implants and watched his patients be comfortable with their body once again.
